EFEK PERAWATAN MUKOBIOADHESIF EKSTRAK GAMBIR (Uncaria gambir) TERHADAP PENYEMBUHAN STOMATITIS AFTOSA REKUREN DAN TRAUMATIK ULSER

Background: Recurrent aphthous stomatitis and traumatic ulcers are the most common oral lesions. Complaints that usually arise can interfere with daily activities, so that more natural drugs are needed with preparations that are more effective in curing these complaints. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of mucobioadhesive treatment of gambir (Uncaria gambir) extract on the healing of recurrent aphthous stomatitis and traumatic ulcers. Methods: An experimental study with a pretest-posttest with control group design was carried out in the Department of Dentistry and Oral Medicine with 30 participants divided into 2 groups, namely the mucobioadhesive group of gambir extract and the placebo mucobioadhesive control group. Mucobioadhesive was used 3 times a day for 7 days which was controlled until day 14. Ulcerated lesions were measured independently by subjects on days 0, 1, 3, 5, and 7 using a 10 mm ruler recorded on the control sheet.
