Tanjung Api-Api port is a sea crossing port that connects South Sumatra and Bangka Island, Tanjung Api-Api port is located in the waters of Tanjung Api-Api South Sumatra Banyuasin district. The purpose of this study was to analyze and determine the type of texture and shape of the vertical profile of organic carbon content in sediments. This research was conducted in November 2022 around the port of Tanjung Api-Api. The tool used when taking sediments vertically uses a sediment coring tool and then divided into 4 parts at 10 cm intervals. The sieving and pipetting method was carried out to determine the type of sediment fraction, and to determine the organic carbon content using the spectrometer method. The texture type in the waters around Tanjung Api-Api harbor is dominated by the clay fraction with the highest average value of clay fraction 87, 9%. Organic carbon obtained has an average value of 5.9 - 6.3% has a tendency to increase the depth of the higher organic carbon content.
