KONSTRUKSI GENDER DALAM ALBUM SIALNYA, HIDUP HARUS TETAP BERJALAN OLEH BERNADYA (ANALISIS WACANA KRITIS SARA MILLS)

This study aimed to analyze the gender construction present in the album Sialnya, Hidup Harus Tetap Jalan by Bernadya using critical discourse analysis by Sara Mills. The research method used was descriptive qualitative with data collection methods through documentation and literature studies. The analysis was carried out by considering various aspects of the album such as song lyrics, music videos, cover, and album concepts. The results of the study showed that women are positioned as subjects who have the power to describe themselves in this album. The position of the listener referred more to female listeners who are positioned to stand with the subject's perspective in this album. Although women had power over their depiction, patriarchal ideology still influenced the production of this album as a discourse where women are constructed as passive, dominated, weak, emotional and dependent on their partners in a heterosexual romantic relationship. This could influence the listener's view of the identity and role of women and even exacerbate negative stereotypes about women that already exist in society.
