ANALISIS PERUBAHAN KONDISI SOSIAL EKONOMI PETANI PASCA PENURUNAN HARGA KARET DI DESA SURYAKARTA KECAMATAN MESUJI MAKMUR KABUPATEN OGAN KOMERING ILIR

The majority of the population in Suryakarta Village, Mesuji Makmur District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency, earn their livelihood as rubber farmers. The decline in rubber prices has affected the socio-economic conditions of farmers. The objectives of this study are, (1) To identify the social conditions of rubber farmers after the decline in rubber prices in Suryakarta Village, Mesuji Makmur District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency. (2) To calculate the income of rubber farmers after the decline in rubber prices in Suryakarta Village, Mesuji Makmur District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency. (3) To identify the factors influencing the decline in rubber selling prices in Suryakarta Village, Mesuji Makmur District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency. Data collection was conducted in December 2024. The method used is a case study, and the sampling method applied is simple random sampling. The data collected in this study consists of primary and secondary data. The results of the study indicate that there have been changes in the social conditions of farmers, as seen from their attitudes and interest in rubber farming. The decline in rubber prices has also affected farmers' income; as prices decrease, farmers' income also declines. The factors influencing the decline in rubber prices include demand, rubber quality, and oversupply.
