The role of women at top management level in improving company financial performance and involvement in environmental responsibility is still being debated to this day. This research aims to investigate the role of female directors in 143 manufacturing companies in Indonesia from 2020 to 2022. The data obtained was analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling – Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS). This study finds that corporate environmental responsibility engagement does not mediate the relationship between female directors and corporate profitability. This research found no significant relationship between female directors and corporate environmental responsibility, but there was a significant positive influence between corporate environmental responsibility involvement and company profitability. This research also found no relationship between the independence of the board and the company environmental responsibility engagement and company profitability.
