DESAIN CONSTRUCTED WETLANDS TIPE FREE WATER SURFACE DENGAN PENGARUH VARIASI DEBIT PADA SUNGAI PENJEMURAN KOTA PALEMBANG
The Penjemuran River has experienced a decrease in water quality due to the discharge of leachate from the Sukawinatan landfill, affecting the surrounding aquaculture. Analysis of the effect of discharge variation on the effectiveness of pollutant reduction in constructed wetland type free water surface is the purpose of this study. Tests were conducted using a laboratory-scale design with dimensions of 70 cm x 35 cm x 40 cm, filled with drying river water. The water treatment system was tested using three variations of discharge, namely 4.285 ml/sec, 1.355 ml/sec, and 0.366 ml/sec. The plant used was water hyacinth. Hydraulic Retention Time (HRT) was set at 24 hours. The test results with the best effectiveness in reducing pollutant parameters are in the third discharge, namely 0.366 ml/second, with a nitrate reduction efficiency of 86.667%, an increase in Dissolved Oxygen (DO) of 50%, and stabilizing pH by 39.162% to 7.64, this value is in accordance with class II water quality standards based on PP No. 22 of 2021. The discharge used in the field scale design refers to the laboratory-scale Hydraulic Loading Rate (HLR) of 0.129 m / day, obtained a discharge of 0.464 m3 / day. Cost estimation calculations are also carried out to support implementation in the field. This study proposes an environmentally friendly method of river water treatment that can improve the quality of the aquatic environment while supporting the productivity of the fisheries sector.
