PERENCANAAN DAN PERANCANGAN REST AREA TIPE A PADA JALAN TOL PALEMBANG-JAMBI
The Trans Sumatra Higways is a Government effort to develop Highways in the Sumatra region. Highways in Sumatra have connected several big cities, one example is the Palembang – Jambi Highway. Usually Palembang – Jambi requires a travel time of 6 hours, but with the existence of a Highway with a distance of 169.9 KM, of course the travel time for toll road users is reduced. In accordance with the 2018 PUPR Ministerial Regulation, Highways with a distance of more than 50 KM must have a Type A Rest Area as a place for drivers to rest temporarily to avoid traffic accidents due to fatigue. Rest areas in Sumatra usually use the characteristics of the surrounding area as markers of the area where the building is located, for example the roof of the Lampung Rest Area which uses Lampung filters as a characteristic of the area. However, in the Sumatra Rest Area there are still several facilities that do not comply with existing regulations. Therefore, this Rest Area will use the characteristics of the city of Palembang which originate from the Palembang traditional house, namely Rumah Limas, both in terms of ornamentation, philosophy and the shape of the house as a territorial marker for the Rest Area building on the Palembang - Jambi Toll Road but still providing adequate facilities. complete in accordance with existing regulations. The planning and design of this Rest Area will provide complete facilities to users of the Palembang Jambi Highway as well as become the identity of the area.
