PERANCANGAN INDIKATOR BATAS WAKTU PERGANTIAN FILTER CARTRIDGE BERDASARKAN WATER PRESSURE
This project aims to develop a system capable of identifying the optimal time to replace a filter cartridge based on water pressure measurements. The main objectives include analyzing the relationship between water pressure and filter blockage, designing a pressure-based replacement indicator, and evaluating the system’s benefits in improving water distribution efficiency and reducing maintenance costs. The technology applied was also assessed to ensure proper integration into the indicator system. The research method involved five stages, from literature review to final conclusions, with evaluations at each step. The results indicate that the filter cartridge should be replaced when the water pressure reaches 25.5 Psi, signaling increased pump load, higher electricity consumption, and slower water flow to the reservoir due to clogging. This study also draws from multiple references across various fields and addresses the limitations of previous research, integrating both quantitative and qualitative approaches to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the existing problems. By utilizing updated data and more advanced analytical techniques, the findings are more relevant and applicable to today’s clean water needs. Another advantage lies in the study’s more specific and in-depth focus, helping communities monitor energy usage and achieve greater efficiency in electricity consumption—an aspect not widely explored in earlier studies. Therefore, this system is particularly beneficial for remote areas lacking access to public water networks or the internet, as it operates simply with electricity and displays data on an LCD screen with an alarm that activates when pressure exceeds the predefined limit.
