PERENCANAAN DAN PERANCANGAN STUDENT CENTER INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI SUMATERA (ITERA)
The increasing number of active students and the diversity of Student Activity Units (UKM) at the Sumatra Institute of Technology (ITERA) has driven the need for facilities capable of supporting educational, creative, interactive, and collaborative activities. The main problem in this design is how to design a Student Center that is efficient, functional, and responsive to the comfort of students' practical and non-practical activities. Using the Collaborative Space concept, with an emphasis on flexible spaces that encourage student interaction, cooperation, and creativity. From a design perspective, a modern architectural approach is applied with a focus on function, spatial efficiency, and simplicity of form that are appropriate to the context of the ITERA campus. The design results in two main building masses that accommodate practical and non-practical zones. The two masses are designed to be physically separate but functionally integrated through connecting bridges on each floor. The spatial relationship is arranged so that activities between functions remain mutually supportive without disturbing each other. The design of this Student Center is expected to not only be a forum for student activities, but also create a more collaborative, productive, and inclusive campus environment for ITERA students.
