ANALISIS IMPLEMENTASI SISTEM MANAJEMEN KEBAKARAN DI BENGKEL PT KERETA API UPT BALAI YASA LAHAT TAHUN 2025
Fire is considered one of the main risks in industrial work environments, including railway workshops where high fire hazards are posed by activities such as welding, the use of heavy equipment, and flammable materials. This study was conducted to analyze the implementation of the fire management system at the workshop of PT Kereta Api Indonesia UPT Balai Yasa Lahat. A descriptive observational method with a qualitative approach was used in this research. The results of the study show that the potential fire hazards at the Balai Yasa Lahat Workshop are considerably high. This is indicated by welding activities that may trigger sparks, the use of high voltage electrical equipment, and the presence of flammable materials in the work area. In general, the fire management system is implemented through the establishment of an emergency response organization, evacuation procedures, fire training and simulations, and the provision of facilities such as fire extinguishers (APAR), hydrants, and assembly points. The Balai Yasa Lahat Workshop also has an emergency and post-fire response plan. However, some aspects, such as the fire alarm system, do not fully comply with the standards set by the Regulation of the Ministry of Public Works and Housing No. 26 of 2008 and SNI 03-3985-2000 regarding fire alarm installations. This study recommends improvements to the fire alarm system, a fixed schedule for training and fire simulations, and the addition of emergency contact information on the evacuation layout. These findings are expected to provide input for the development of a more effective fire protection system in industrial work environments.
