TEMPAT ISTIRAHAT DAN PELAYANAN KM 137 TOL TERBANGGI BESAR – KAYUAGUNG, LAMPUNG DENGAN PENDEKATAN INSTAGRAMMABLE ARCHITECTURE

The facilities at the majority of rest areas on Indonesian highways can’t be described as complete with conditions that make the visitors comfortable, therefore they must be improved to prevent accidents and inconvenience for the highway users. The designing of Terbanggi Besar – Kayuagung Highway’s KM 137 A rest area was considered due to the lack of amount and poor conditions of the highways at surrounding intervals, therefore the opportunity to design a rest area with the concept of Instagrammable Architecture arose. The design is supported by the hexagonal shape of the main building, with facades suited with the hexagonal shape plastered by natural plant elements following the surrounding conditions in the form of rice fields, a Sky Tree as a centerpoint which gives the visitors an opportunity to take photos and videos, without forgetting to fulfill the facility needs such as amenities, food, and toilets in order to give the visitors a chance of taking a good, comfortable break and return on their next trip.
