KARAKTERISTIK PASIEN PATENT DUCTUS ARTERIOSUS YANG DILAKUKAN TATALAKSANA DI RSUP DR. MOHAMMAD HOESIN PALEMBANG PERIODE 2022 – 2023

PDA, or Patent Ductus Arteriosus, is a condition where the ductus arteriosus remains open. PDA is the most common acyanotic congenital heart disease at Mohammad Hoesin Palembang Hospital. Treatment options for PDA include medication, transcatheter procedures, or ligation. This study is conducted to identify the sociodemographic and clinical characteristics of PDA patients who underwent treatment at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang Regional Public Hospital. This research is a descriptive study utilizing secondary data from medical records in the medical record department of Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang Regional Public Hospital. The study population consists of PDA patients who underwent treatment at the hospital from 2022 to 2023. Samples were selected using random sampling methods and analyzed univariately. The results of this study are presented in tables and narratives. This research utilized 80 samples. The sociodemographic characteristics of PDA patients revealed that 30% were aged 29 days to 6 months, and 63.75% were female. The clinical characteristics showed that 61.54% had a gestational age of 37-42 weeks, 57.69% presented with complaints of shortness of breath, 88.75% were treated with anti-failure medications, and 82.05% had survival outcomes with the ductus remaining open. The predominant characteristics of PDA patients treated at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang Regional Public Hospital during the 2022-2023 period were: age between 29 days and 6 months, female gender, gestational age of 37-42 weeks, primary complaint of shortness of breath, treatment with medication, and survival with the ductus remaining open.
