Oral and dental health is part of the health of the body that cannot be separated from one another because it will affect the health of the body. One of the oral health that must be considered is the growth and development of teeth,Because children's knowledge about dental hygiene and is still very lacking Therefore, the role and knowledge of parents in caring for oral hygiene is needed in guiding and providing facilities to children so that children can maintain oral hygiene. Objective: To determine whether there is a relationship between the level of parental knowledge and dental and oral hygiene in student of grade 2 SDN 33 Palembang.Methods:This study is an analytical observational study with a cross sectional design. the number of samples used was 50 respondents who were taken using purposive sampling technique. To measure the level of parental knowledge in the form of a questionnaire and OHI-S score data to measure oral hygiene. Results: The results showed that the p value was 0.023, which means that there is a relationship between the level of dental and oral health knowledge of parents and children's dental and oral hygiene.Conclusion: The better the parents' knowledge, the better their children's dental and oral hygiene
