PENGARUH PEMBELAJARAN PRAKTIKUM TITRASI ASAM BASA TERHADAP KETERAMPILAN PROSES SAINS SISWA KELAS XI SMAN SUMATERA SELATAN
The advancements of the 21st century demand that students possess skills capable of competing globally, particularly in scientific process skills. One teaching method that can be employed to enhance scientific process skills is the practical work method. This study aims to determine and describe the effect of practical work on students' scientific process skills in acid-base titration material at a high school in South Sumatra. This research is experimental in nature, using a one-group pretest-posttest design. Data were collected through tests (pretest-posttest), observation sheets, and practical assessment rubrics. The data on scientific process skills obtained from the tests showed an average pre-test score of 30.67% and a post-test score of 68.83%. The hypothesis testing results indicated a significant difference in scientific process skills before and after the application of the practical method, with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. The practical method was found to improve students' process skills in acid-base titration material, with an N-Gain score of 0.56, indicating a moderate improvement category. Based on observations, the average score of students' scientific process skills was 85.83%, which falls into the very good category, showing that each stage of practical learning can develop students' scientific process skills.
