KORELASI KADAR 25-HIDROKSIVITAMIN D DENGAN THYROID-STIMULATING HORMONE PADA PASIEN HIPERTIROID DI RSUP DR. MOHAMMAD HOESIN PALEMBANG

Napitupulu, Nancy Febriyanti - Personal Name;

Hyperthyroidism is a thyroid disorder most commonly due to Graves' disease, a multifactorial autoimmune disorder. Vitamin D is known to have an immunomodulatory function through the Vitamin D Receptor (VDR), which plays a role in both the innate and adaptive immune system. This suggests that vitamin D may influence the immune response in Graves' disease. Autoantibodies in Graves' disease, known as Thyrotrophin Receptor Antibodies (TRAb), bind to the Thyroid-Stimulating Hormone Receptor (TSHR) in the thyroid gland thus increasing the secretion of thyroid hormones continuously resulting in decreased Thyroid-Stimulating Hormone (TSH) levels. This study aims to determine the correlation between 25(OH)D and TSH levels in hyperthyroid patients at RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang. This study is an observational analytic study with a cross-sectional study design. The sample of this study were hyperthyroid patients recorded in the medical record data from January 2023 to August 2024 at RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang, selected through purposive sampling resulting in 62 research subjects. Data were analyzed using IBM SPSS V23. Most research subjects were female, aged 25-44, and had a normal Body Mass Index. The results showed that mean 25(OH)D levels indicated 25(OH)D deficiency, while median TSH levels were low. There is no correlation between 25(OH)D levels and TSH in hyperthyroid patients at RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang (p = 0,191 dan r = 0,168).
