SENSE OF PLACE MASYARAKAT PADA KAWASAN TAMAN DAN BENDUNGAN DIDESA SUKANEGARA, KABUPATEN LAHAT,SUMATERA SELATAN

This research focuses on the community's sense of place toward the park and dam area and how the community interprets the existence of the park and dam area. The purpose of this research is to perceive and interpret the existence of the park and dam area. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative method with a case study research strategy. This research utilizes the sense of place theory. Data was obtained from 8 key informants and 2 supporting informants using data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, documentation, and literature review. The research results show that the community's sense of place in the park and dam area is still high, as evidenced by the community's perceptions when in the park and dam area, and the community's interpretation of the park and dam area's existence as a place for recreation, selling, and education.
