RANCANG BANGUN SISTEM DETEKSI KEBAKARAN HUTAN DENGAN KOMBINASI SENSOR ASAP DAN MODUL GPS UNTUK PERINGATAN DINI
Forest fires are an issue that endangers ecosystems, public health, and the economy, especially in Indonesia, which has vast tropical forests. Most forest fire incidents are triggered by human activities, such as land clearing through burning, which is getting worse due to weak law enforcement and lack of environmental awareness. The smoke generated from these fires has a huge impact on social life, including disrupting educational activities. For this reason, an early detection system is needed that is able to identify the presence of smoke quickly and provide precise information on the location of the fire. This research designs and develops a forest fire detection system by utilizing the MQ-135 smoke sensor and NEO-6M GPS module, which can provide early warning to the authorities. Hopefully, this system can accelerate the response to fire events and reduce environmental and economic losses. With this system, fire monitoring in remote areas can be done more effectively and efficiently, thus supporting sustainable forest management.
