JARINGAN ADVOKASI 'CLEAN CLOTHES CAMPAIGN' DALAM PERLINDUNGAN HAK DAN KESELAMATAN PEKERJA INDUSTRI GARMEN DI PAKISTAN

Qanitah, Yasmin Shafa  - Personal Name;

This research is entitled "The 'Clean Clothes Campaign' Advocacy Network in protecting the rights and work safety of garment workers in Pakistan". Based on the title specified, this research aims to analyze the role of the Clean Clothes Campaign (CCC) as a transnational advocacy network in protecting the rights and work safety of garment workers in Pakistan. Protection of the rights and work safety of garment workers in Pakistan. CCC is a transnational advocacy network (TANs) that focuses on the anti-sweatshop movement, namely a movement that focuses on labor rights and working conditions throughout the world, with special attention to the textile and garment industry. The issue raised in this research is the issue of violations of garment workers' rights in Pakistan, where as one of the highest garment exporting countries, violations of garment workers' rights in Pakistan still occur frequently. Violations of garment workers' rights in Pakistan include wages below the minimum wage, unsafe working conditions, forced overtime, etc. This research uses the Transnational Advocacy Network concept by Keck & Sikkink with a descriptive qualitative research design with secondary data sources obtained from the official CCC website. Based on research results, the CCC has played a role as a transnational advocacy network which is divided into four, namely Information Politics, Symbolic Politics, Leverage Politics, and Accountability Politics. However, the CCC's role as Accountability Politics was not successful because there was no pressure from the CCC on the Pakistani government regarding the issue of garment workers in Pakistan. Keywords: Transnational advocacy network, Clean Clothes Campaign, Pakistani garment industry.
