MEMBRAN TITANIUM DIOKSIDA DENGAN CAMPURAN POLYVINYLIDENE FLUORIDE; ANALISIS KINERJA PENGOLAHAN AIR DAN SIFAT KARAKTERISTIK

Wijaya, Crisna - Personal Name;

This research aims to develop a membrane using a mixture of Titanium Dioxide (TiO2) and Polyvinylidene Fluoride (PVDF) and modify the surface using the Electric Field method. This research aims to test the strength of the membrane in withstanding tensile loads, analyze the microstructure of the membrane formed, identify flux in the Clean Water Permeability (CWP) test. The membrane is made by mixing PVDF with a solvent in the form of NN-Dimethylacetamide (DMAc) and adding an addictive substance as a reinforcement, namely Titanium Dioxide (TiO2) with changing variations. Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) observations to observe the microstructure, tensile testing to analyze mechanical properties, in tensile testing results showed an average increase in membrane strength in withstanding tensile loads along with the addition of reinforcing additives. Meanwhile, the CWP test results obtained are inversely proportional to the results of the tensile load test, where there is a decrease in the flux value along with the increase in reinforcing agent in the PVDF22.5wt%@TiO2 1.5wt% membrane. The average flux value is 63.3868 Lm-2h. -1bar-1 while on the PVDF22.5wt%@TiO2 2wt% membrane the average flux value was 42.380689 Lm-2h-1bar-1 and on the PVDF22.5wt%@TiO2 2.5wt% membrane the average result was obtained the lowest flux value is 25.05989 Lm-2h-1bar-1 . The decrease in flux value in the PVDF@TiO2 membrane test shows that the higher the reinforcing material element (TiO2), the increase in titanium particles affects the distribution of the particles resulting in agglomeration which causes a decrease in porosity and the size of the pores formed. Keywords: Membrane, Titanium Dioxide, Polyvinylidene Fluoride
