DAMPAK SOSIAL EKONOMI USAHA BUDIDAYA SARANG BURUNG WALET DI DESA TULUNG SELAPAN KECAMATAN TULUNG SELAPAN KABUPATEN OGAN KOMERING ILIR
This research was motivated by the fact that Tulung Selapan village, Tulung Selapan subdistrict, is one of the villages in Ogan Komering Ilir Regency which has a unique business, namely the business of nests produced from the saliva of one of the unique birds, namely swallows. This is because the selling value of nests produced from swallows can produce a high selling value so that it can change the socio-economic life of farming families in the business of cultivating swallow's nests in Tulung Selapan village, Tulung Selapan district. This research aims to determine the socio-economic impact of farmers in cultivating swallow's nests. The method used is a qualitative research method. Data collection techniques are observation, interviews and documentation. The types and sources of data in this research are primary data and secondary data. The theory used in this research is socio-economic theory according to Soerjono Soekanto (2007:89), a person's social position in society is related to other people in terms of their environment, relationships, achievements, and their rights and obligations in relation to resources. The results of the research show the impact of changes in the lives of swifilet farmers. 1) If before developing swiftlet cultivation, farmers' income was only enough to meet their daily needs, now after successfully cultivating swifilet nests, these farmers can have savings and buy valuable goods. 2) The social position in society was previously only as an ordinary person who-was-less social in society, but after successfully cultivating swallow's nests, the farmer was closer to society. Meanwhile, the privileges obtained by successful farmers include being more respected and respected in the surrounding environment. 3) Knowledge, farmers who cultivate swallow's nests have sufficient knowledge by finding out information from neighbors and knowing about socio-economic concepts Keywords: Impact, Social Economy, Swallow's Nest cultivation business.
