HUBUNGAN KOMPOSISI TUBUH DAN TINGKAT AKTIVITAS FISIK DENGAN KEJADIAN NYERI MUSKULOSKELETAL PADA PEKERJA MINIMARKET DI KOTA PALEMBANG

William, Jessica Audrey - Personal Name;

Background: Musculoskeletal pain is acute or chronic pain, either persistent or recurrent, that affects bones, muscles, ligaments, tendons, and nerves. According to Riskesdas in 2018, the prevalence of musculoskeletal diseases in Indonesia has reached 7.3%. One of the underlying risk factors of musculoskeletal pain is body composition and physical activity level. However, previous studies on these variables showed inconsistent data. Therefore, this study aims to determine the association between body composition and the level of physical activity with the incidence of musculoskeletal pain among minimarket workers in Palembang City. Methods: Observational analytic research with a cross-sectional study design was used for data analysis. Primary data were collected from 50 respondents, by measuring body composition using bioelectrical impedance analysis, as well as filling out the International Physical Activity Questionnaire-Short Form and Nordic Body Map Questionnaire for data on physical activity and musculoskeletal pain among minimarket workers in Palembang City. Pearson’s Chi-Square test was used for bivariate analysis. Results: The majority of minimarket workers had an overfat body composition (32%); moderate physical activity level (46%); and low musculoskeletal pain risk level (38%), with the most painful areas on the back and waist (40%). Bivariate analysis between body composition and the incidence of musculoskeletal pain showed a significant association, with PR = 15,625 and p-value
