FAKTOR PENYEBAB RENDAHNYA PARTISIPASI REMAJA PADA ORGANISASI KARANG TARUNA DI DESA CELIKAH KECAMATAN KAYUAGUNG

This research was carried out because a problem was found, namely the very low participation of teenagers in youth organizations. Therefore, this research aims to find out and explain what factors cause the low participation of teenagers in youth organizations in Celikah Village, Kayuagung District. This research is qualitative research with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques in this research consist of interviews, observation and documentation. There are several components in writing data, namely data collection, data presentation, data reduction and drawing conclusions. Then this data collection was carried out through interviews with several research subjects consisting of secondary subjects, namely teenagers who were active and inactive in youth organizations, youth who were active in youth organizations and parents of teenagers who were not active in youth organizations. The primary subjects and secondary subjects are the chairman of the youth organization and one of the village governments. Based on the research that has been carried out, research findings were obtained, namely several factors that cause low participation of teenagers in youth organizations, namely (1) internal factors: age, education, employment, length of time as a member of the community and involvement in development activities. (2) external factors: lack of progress in the youth organization's activity program, lack of facilities and infrastructure at the youth organization, poor leadership and management of the youth organization, influence from local friends, and lack of role from parents and village government in supporting teenagers in carrying out the program Activities at Karang Tauna. Therefore, it is recommended that youth organizations in Celikah Village improve existing activity programs and increase cooperation in the leadership and management of youth organizations so that a better organization can be created and participation from these youth organizations can increase in the future.
