PERENCANAAN DAN PERANCANGAN PANTI JOMPO DI PALEMBANG

Based on data from the Central Bureau of Statistics for the years 2021-2022, there has been a 25% increase in the elderly population in Palembang over the course of one year. This increase has led to issues of overcapacity in nursing homes resulting in overwhelmed staff and a decline in the quality of care. Additionally the existing facilities in these nursing homes are inadequate including lack of natural lighting, cramped spaces, and poor accessibility, particularly for elderly individuals with physical limitations and disabilities. Therefore there is a need to design nursing home that implement an elderly-friendly design approach, taking into account the physical and cognitive needs of the elderly. This approach aims to create a safe, comfortable, and supportive environment that can enhance the quality of life for the elderly, as well as improve operational efficiency and the quality of care in nursing homes.
