UJI DAYA ANTIBAKTERI EKSTRAK GELATIN KULIT IKAN PATIN (PANGASIUS SP) TERHADAP BAKTERI AGGREGATIBACTER ACTINOMYCETEMCOMITANS
Background: Periodontal disease is one of the dental and oral health problems with a fairly high percentage in Indonesia. One of the microorganisms that plays a role in periodontal disease is the bacterium A. actinomycetemcomitans. Catfish (Pangasius sp) as the most cultivated in South Sumatra is reported to have amino acid content that has the potential to be antibacterial. Objective: To determine the antibacterial power of catfish peel gelatin extract (Pangasius sp) against the bacteria A. actinomycetemcomitans. Methods: This study is an in vitro laboratory experimental study with a post-test only control group design. Catfish skin gelatin (Pangasius sp) is extracted using acetic acid followed by protease enzymes, then made with concentrations of 1.25%, 2.5%, 5%, and 10%. Using tetracycline positive control and aquades negative control. The Minimum Inhibition Concentration (KHM) test used the liquid dilution method, the Minimum Kill Concentration (KBM) test used the solid dilution method, and the inhibition zone used the disc diffusion method in millimeters (mm), the results of the inhibition zone were analyzed using the Independent T-test and Post Hoc Tukey test. Results: KHM was set at a concentration of 2.5% and KBM was set at a concentration of 5%. The Inhibition Zone began to be seen at a concentration of 2.5%, and the largest inhibition zone was shown at a concentration of 10% with the results of the analysis of the Independent T-test and Pos Hoc Tukey tests showing a significant difference with a p
