ANALISIS IMPLEMENTASI KESELAMATAN DAN KESEHATAN KERJA (K3) PADA BENGKEL JURUSAN TEKNIK PEMESINAN SMK N 7 PALEMBANG

Work accidents can happen anywhere, including during practical learning sessions in vocational schools. Therefore, work accidents must be prevented by implementing and improving the quality of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) in practical rooms related to safe work practices and safe and comfortable working environments. This study aims to analyze the implementation of Occupational Health and Safety in the Machining Engineering Workshop of SMK N 7 Palembang. The research design uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach, employing purposive sampling techniques. Data collection methods used by the researcher include observation and in-depth interviews with informants. There were 9 informants in this study. The research results indicate that in the implementation of OHS in the Machining Engineering Workshop, some students are still unaware of OHS, although they practice safe work and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) during practical sessions. Environmental factors in the workshop are still not adequately addressed, such as inadequate workshop space that does not comply with regulations, lack of cleanliness in the workshop, insufficient lighting that does not meet standard intensity levels in practical rooms, and room temperatures exceeding norms. Regarding infrastructure, the school has a First Aid room that meets standards. Active fire protection equipment (APAR) is available in the workshop, but their placement does not meet standards, and evacuation route signs are not yet provided in the workshop area. The study concludes that the implementation of Occupational Health and Safety in workshops needs further improvement to create a safe, comfortable, and healthy practice environment.
