HUBUNGAN POLA MAKAN DAN AKTIVITAS FISIK DENGAN KEJADIAN OBESITAS PADA MASYARAKAT DI KOTA PALEMBANG
Obesity in Indonesia has experienced a very significant increase over the past decade (10 years), especially in Palembang City. This rise can be influenced by several factors, one being behavioral factors. Poor eating habits and low physical activity contribute to the rising incidence of obesity in Palembang City. The purpose of this research is to analyze the significance of the relationship between physical activity and diet with the occurrence of obesity among adults in Palembang. This type of research is observational analysis with a cross-sectional design. This study took secondary data from previous research related to glucose abnormalities from the IKM section of the Faculty of Medicine, Sriwijaya University. The sample in this study is people aged 18–65 years visit health centers in Palembang City, with a minimum sample of 246. Samples were taken randomly, data was processed and analyzed using SPSS version 25. The samples size was 265. People with the result that 125 people (47,2%) were obese. The characteristics of the respondents in this study were the majority of women (80,4%), aged 18–40 (60,8%), marital status (72,5%), elementary school graduation (30,6%) and being an unstable low-income workforce (35,8%). The results of the analysis with binary logistics showed a significant relationship with the physical activity variable with p-value= 0,000 while the dietary variable was not significantly related to the incidence of obesity with p-value= 0,461. Physical activity is a risk factor for obesity, while dietary habits do not contribute to the risk of obesity in Palembang City.
