SIMULASI CRASHWORTHINESS EASIEST TO BREAK RANGKA PELINDUNG SENSOR SRIFADA DARI BAJA ST 37
One of the causes of airplane accidents on the ground was the presence of water puddles on the runway. To address this problem, the development of an automatic sensor system that could accurately measure the height of water puddles on the runway was required. This study focused on investigating the crashworthiness and fracture capability of sensor frames made of ST 37 steel. Three different sensor frame designs were simulated using the Finite Element Analysis method to analyze the sensor frame's response to impact loads. This analysis considered various factors, including deformation, equivalent stress (von-Mises), safety factor, momentum, kinetic energy, and contact force. The simulation results showed that design 1 with ST 37 steel material was the easiest to break, with the highest von-Mises equivalent stress value of 49.189 MPa, the lowest safety factor of 0.0050824, and the lowest momentum of 343.07 N-s.
