Vegetable waste is often discarded openly without proper management, leading to environmental issues and unpleasant odors. The addition of carrot waste to silage can improve its quality because carrots contain nutrients such as 9 g of carbohydrates, 5 g of sugar, 1 g of protein, 8285 g of beta-carotene, and 33 mg of calcium, which can enhance digestibility and nutrient availability. This study was conducted from May to June 2025 at the Experimental Barn and Laboratory of the Animal Husbandry Program, Department of Animal Technology and Industry, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Sriwijaya. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of adding carrot waste on the crude fat, crude fiber, and total non-nitrogen extract content in silage made from cabbage and mustard waste. The research used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatment groups and 5 replications, with the following treatments: P0: 50% cabbage waste + 50% mustard waste (control), P1: 42.5% cabbage waste + 42.5% mustard waste + 15% carrot waste, P2: 40% cabbage waste + 40% mustard waste + 20% carrot waste, and P3: 37.5% cabbage waste +37.5% mustard waste + 25% carrot waste. The observed variables were crude fiber, crude fat, and total non-nitrogen extract. The data were analyzed using SPSS version 25.0, including descriptive statistics such as mean, standard deviation, minimum, and maximum values. The results showed that the percentage of crude fiber was higher in treatment PO (28.69%) and lower in P1 (15.39%), with a range of 10.85-37.07%. Meanwhile, crude fat was higher in P1 (22.83%) and lower in P0 (17.91%), with a range of 9.99-33.33%. As for BETN, P1 had the highest value at 44.94%, while P3 had the lowest at 29.95%, with a maximum value of 53.16% and a minimum of 23.71%. In conclusion, the silage made from cabbage and mustard waste with varying levels of carrot waste showed better quality in the PI treatment (P0+ 15% carrot waste), with values of 15.39% crude fiber, 22.83% crude fat, and 44.94% total non-nitrogen extract.
