Introduction: Stroke is one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality worldwide, including in Indonesia. Stroke can be categorized into two main types: ischemic stroke and hemorrhagic stroke, each influenced by various risk factors such as age, gender, history of hypertension, and cardiomegaly. This study aims to analyze the association between age, gender, history of hypertension, and cardiomegaly with the types of stroke in adult patients at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin General Hospital Palembang. Method: This study employed an observational analytic design with a cross-sectional approach. The sample was obtained from medical records of stroke patients at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin General Hospital Palembang during the designated study period. Patients meeting the inclusion criteria were analyzed using Chi-Square and Fisher's Exact tests to identify the relationship between risk factors and the type of stroke experienced by the patients. Results: Out of the 40 samples analyzed, 70% experienced ischemic stroke, and 30% had hemorrhagic stroke. The majority of patients were within the 45-64 age range (62.5%), predominantly male (62.5%), and had a history of hypertension (82.5%) and cardiomegaly (52,5%). Bivariate analysis showed no significant association between cardiomegaly and stroke occurrence in this sample (p = 0.836). Conclusion: This study did not find a significant association between cardiomegaly and stroke in adult patients at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin General Hospital Palembang during the 2023-2024 period.
