KARAKTER MORFOMETRIK-MERISTIK, POLA PERTUMBUHAN DAN FAKTOR KONDISI IKAN BELIDA SUMATERA (CHITALA HYPSELONOTUS) ASAL SUNGAI KELEKAR SUMATERA SELATAN

Makaarim, Hisyam - Personal Name;

Sumatran Featherback (Chitala hypselonotus) is an Indonesian fish species that holds significant ecological and economic value. The abundance of this species has been declining due to overexploitation. This study aimed to analyze morphometric-meristic characteristics, growth patterns, and condition factors of C. hypselonotus from Kelekar River, South Sumatra. The research was conducted at Basic Fisheries Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sriwijaya, during December 2024 to February 2025. This research used a survey method and samples were collected using a purposive random sampling method. Thirteen specimens of C. hypselonotus were observed, with total lengths ranging from 303 to 703 mm with standard lengths 288 to 662 mm and body weights varied from 276 to 2462 g. The results indicated that the anal fin length contributed the largest proportion to total length (75.74%), followed by pre-dorsal length (53.77%) and post-dorsal length (46.51%). Meristic analysis showed the number of ventral fin rays ranged from 2 to 5, pectoral fin rays from 11 to 18, dorsal fin rays from 7 to 10, and anal+caudal fin rays from 104 to 172. The growth pattern of C. hypselonotus was negative allometry (b = 2.968), and the condition factor was 1.003 categorized as good. This study provides a reference for further research.
