PERSPEKTIF GENDER DALAM DALIHAN NATOLU (STUDI TENTANG PERNIKAHAN MASYARAKAT BATAK TOBA DI DESA BANUAYU, KABUPATEN MUARA ENIM).
The problem raised in this study is to find out how the application of Dalihan Na Tolu affects gender roles and positions in the marriage of the Toba Batak community in Banuayu Village, Muara Enim Regency, and to find out the positive and negative impacts resulting from the application of Dalihan Na Tolu on gender relations in the Toba Batak community in Banuayu Village. The research method used descriptive qualitative with a phenomenological research strategy. This research uses functional structural theory by Talcott Parsons. Data were obtained through a process of observation, interviews, and documentation which were then analyzed using the Milles and Hubermen method. The results showed that the application of Dalihan Na Tolu affects the different gender roles and positions between men and women in the wedding party of the Toba Batak community, including (1) male dominance in decision making and leadership in traditional wedding ceremonies (2) subordination of women. The resulting impact of Dalihan Na Tolu on gender relations is in the form of positive and negative impacts. The positive impacts are (1) respect for gender roles (2) strengthening social solidarity in Dalihan Na Tolu (3) conflict prevention and problem resolution. The negative impact is male dominance in Dalihan Na Tolu (2) injustice in the distribution of inheritance and wealth (3) limitations of women in decision making.
