PERAN INTERNATIONAL RESCUE COMMITTEE (IRC) DALAM MEMBANTU ANAK DI SURIAH 2017-2020
Syria conflict in 2011 began with a civil war, the presence of ISIS created an unfavorable situation. Those factors causing the destruction of school buildings, the absence of parents to infrastructure that was no longer conducive. This study aims to explain how one of the INGOs, the International Rescue Committee or IRC, participated in taking a role to help children in Syria 2017-2020. The theory used in this research is the INGO (International Non Governmental Organization) theory by David Lewis and Nazneen Kanji with three roles, Implementers, Catalysts and Partners. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with the aim of describing the facts with literature study research collected and processed by researchers. In the role of Implementers, they act as human resource drivers and providers of physical and moral assistance with Vroom program, IRC Education Program, The IRC-Run Safe Space and the Reach Up and learn program. In fulfilling the role of Catalysts IRC has succeeded in becoming a Facilitator, Contributor and Inspirator with their Social Media Awareness and Open Donations programs as well as Greetings from Sage International School Students. The role as Partners IRC has collaborated to create the Ahlan Simsim and The Hands Up for Syria programs.
