PENGARUH RELAKSASI FINGER HOLD PADA PASIEN KANKER OVARIUM YANG MEMILIKI MASALAH NYERI KRONIS DI RSUP DR. MOHAMMAD HOESIN PALEMBANG
Chronic pain in untreated ovarian cancer patients affected quality of life, led to psychological disturbances, physical issues, and caused discomfort. The finger hold relaxation technique helped ovarian cancer patients cope with pain, as this technique provided a sense of comfort that helped free mental and physical conditions, thereby increasing tolerance to pain. The purpose of this scientific work was to provide nursing care to ovarian cancer patients with chronic pain issues using the finger hold relaxation intervention. The method used was qualitative research with a case study approach involving three patients who had the primary nursing problem of chronic pain and were treated at RSMH from May 1, 2024, to May 6, 2024. The results of this study show that patients feel comfortable and more relaxed after being given the finger hold relaxation technique, which leads to a reduction in the pain they experience, as evidenced by a decrease in the pain scale for the three managed patients from a scale of 4-5 to a scale of 2-3. The finger hold relaxation technique can trigger the release of endorphins, which act as natural pain relievers from within the body, thereby reducing pain. The provision of finger hold relaxation enhances comfort and helps patients adapt to the pain they are experiencing.
