PROFIL PASIEN KARSINOMA KOLON DI RSUP DR. MOHAMMAD HOESIN PALEMBANG TAHUN 2024

Colon carcinoma is one of the most common malignancies of the lower gastrointestinal tract with high incidence and mortality rates worldwide, including in Indonesia. Most patients are diagnosed at an advanced stage with a poorer prognosis. This study aimed to determine the profile and clinical as well as inflammatory characteristics of colon carcinoma patients at RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang in 2024. A descriptive observational study with a retrospective design was used in this study. Data were obtained from medical records of colon carcinoma patients from RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang in 2024 who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria using the total sampling method. A total of 65 colon carcinoma patients were included. The majority were aged 50–64 years (53.8%), male (53.8%), presented with abdominal pain (22%), had normal BMI (76.9%), no family history (100%), tumor located in the left colon (58.5%), and were in stage IV (35.4%) with adenocarcinoma histopathology (73.8%). The median NLR was 4.41 and the median PLR was 25.5. In conclusion, there was no significant relationship between Neutrophil-to-lymphocyte Ratio (NLR) or Platelet-to-lymphocyte Ratio (PLR) and the disease staging of colon carcinoma.
