Sabrina, Hani  - Personal Name;

Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) occupies the top three positions in the group of diseases with the highest number of cases in 2023 in Kertapati Public Health Center working area, Palembang City. The aim of this research is to analyze the relationship between physical environment conditions of the house and ARI incident of toddlers (6 – 59 months) in Kertapati Public Health Center working area, Palembang City. This research uses a Cross Sectional design with the population of this research was toddlers. The sampling technique used was Purposive Sampling on 114 respondents. The data analysis used univariate analysis, bivariate analysis used the chi-square test, and multivariate analysis used the multiple logistic regression test of the prediction model. The results of this research show that there is a relationship between exclusive breastfeeding (p-value = 0.006) and room temperature (p-value = 0.000) with the incidence of ARI in toddlers. There was no relationship between toddler age (p-value = 0.451), gender (p-value = 0.151), family members' smoking habits (p-value = 0.273), room humidity (p-value = 0,340), ventilation area (p-value =0.985), occupancy density (p-value =0,952), floor type (p-value = 0.911), and wall type (p-value = 0.972) with the incidence of ARI in toddlers. Multivariate analysis results show that the room humidity variable is the protective factor associated with the incidence of ARI in toddlers (p-value = 0.000) (PR = 0.166; CI = 0,078 – 0,529). The conclusion of this research is the incidence of ARI in toddlers is very influenced by room temperature. Qualified room temperature can protect toddlers 0.166 times less exposed to the incidence of ARI. Researcher suggest that the government can organizing outreach activities about risk factors for the incidence of ARI.
