PROFIL RISIKO EARLY DAN LATE ONSET PREECLAMPSIA PADA IBU HAMIL DI RSUP DR. MOHAMMAD HOESIN PALEMBANG
Background. Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) remains a global health concern, with preeclampsia being one of the major contributing factors. Preeclampsia is a pregnancy complication characterized by hypertension and endothelial dysfunction that can lead to maternal and fetal death. In Palembang City, hypertension during pregnancy is the leading cause of maternal mortality, highlighting the importance of identifying its risk factors. Methods. This study is a descriptive observational research with a cross-sectional design, utilizing secondary data from the medical records of preeclampsia patients at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin General Hospital Palembang from January 1, 2022, to December 31, 2024. Sampling was conducted using the total sampling method, and univariate analysis was performed using SPSS Statistics 27. Observed variables included maternal age, education level, employment status, gravida status, pregnancy type, history of diabetes mellitus, chronic hypertension, and prepregnancy Body Mass Index (BMI). Results. Late-onset preeclampsia (65,4%) was more prevalent than early-onset preeclampsia (34,6%). Most patients were aged 20–35 years (57,7% EOPE; 61,4% LOPE), had secondary education (46.2% EOPE; 59.9% LOPE), were unemployed (81,7% EOPE; 83,8% LOPE), multigravida (57,7% EOPE; 61,4% LOPE), and had singleton pregnancies. The majority had no history of diabetes mellitus (79,8% EOPE; 68,5% LOPE) or chronic hypertension (79,8% EOPE; 91,9% LOPE). Based on BMI, overweight predominated in EOPE (40,4%), while normal weight predominated in LOPE (36,0%). Conclusion. Preeclampsia at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin General Hospital Palembang was more commonly late-onset. Common risk factors included reproductive age, secondary education, unemployment, multigravida status, and overweight nutritional status. Early detection of maternal risk factors is crucial to reduce the incidence of preeclampsia and support maternal mortality reduction in Palembang.
