Introduction: Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) is an autoimmune disease due to immune system disorders, the body loses the ability to distinguish between self and nonself which is characterized by excessive production of antibodies against body tissues causing inflammation throughout the body. Patients with SLE will experience symptoms of aches and pains, joint pain, especially in the extremity joint area which is felt for more than three months due to external factors in the form of UV rays. Pain is a person's perception that can be influenced by psychological and spiritual aspects, therefore Spiritual Emotional Freedom Technique (SEFT) was chosen as a complementary therapy that complements corticosteroid drugs that can reduce pain. Purpose: The purpose of writing this case study is to describe nursing care in SLE patients and describe the provision of Spiritual Emotional Freedom Technique (SEFT) therapy for SLE patients' pain problems. Methods: This study used descriptive case studies on three SLE patients who had chronic pain problems in the Inpatient Room of Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Hospital Palembang and were given SEFT therapy interventions for 3 consecutive days when the patient felt pain. Results: after being given SEFT therapy for 3 consecutive days with flexible time for 10-20 minutes, the patient's chronic pain was achieved characterized by a decreased pain scale from pain scale 6 (1-10) to pain scale 3 (1-10), decreased grimacing, decreased anxiety, and was able to complete routine activities. Discussion: the provision of Spiritual Emotional Freedom Technique (SEFT) therapy can reach the physical component in the form of discomfort such as joint pain that is often experienced by SLE patients as well as biological and spiritual components can have their needs met, so that high confidence in healing arises and can realize their desire to reduce pain stronger so that it affects the release of endorphine hormones which have a real impact on reducing pain. Conclusion: Spiritual Emotional Freedom Technique (SEFT) therapy can reduce pain levels so it is necessary for nurses and students to increase competence and skills in providing SEFT in pain management.
