STRATEGI PEMELIHARAAN PERKERASAN RUNWAY BERDASARKAN ANALISIS ACR-PCR DI BANDAR UDARA SULTAN MAHMUD BADARUDDIN II PALEMBANG

This thesis is titled "Runway Pavement Maintenance Strategy based on ACR-PCR Analysis at Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Palembang Airport" which aims to analyze runway strength using the latest method issued by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), namely the ACR-PCR method, which has been implemented since 2024, replacing the ACN-PCN method that had been in use since 1980. The implementation of this new method will certainly have an impact on airports, especially in obtaining existing runway condition data. The calculation results will be used in determining the runway maintenance strategy to ensure it remains optimally functional throughout its design life. This research is motivated by the importance of an appropriate maintenance strategy to maintain airport facilities, considering the increasing passenger growth and the growing diversity of aircraft types. The data used includes flight data and runway pavement structure data obtained from PT. Angkasa Pura Indonesia. The research results show that the existing PCR value of Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Palembang Airport's runway is 980 F/D/X/T, which is greater than the ACR value of the critical aircraft B 747 400, which is 833. For a 20-year design life PCR with the critical aircraft B 777 300, the value is 860/F/D/X/T, which is smaller than the critical aircraft's ACR of 954, thus requiring maintenance to increase the runway's bearing capacity by adding a 1.8-inch overlay, bringing the PCR value to 990 F/D/X/T. The ACR-PCR method is more relevant to be applied today because it is more consistent with current pavement evaluation techniques and more detailed analytical procedures, which is in line with previous research by Armenia and Loizos (2022).
