ANALISIS DINAMIKA PERUBAHAN TROMBOSIT DAN HEMATOKRIT SEBAGAI INDIKATOR RISIKO TERJADINYA PERDARAHAN PADA PASIEN INFEKSI DENGUE
Background. Dengue infection is a viral disease that presents with a wide spectrum of clinical manifestations, ranging from mild febrile illness to severe hemorrhage and shock. During the critical phase, plasma leakage may occur characterized by increased hematocrit levels and decreased platelet counts. This study aimed to analyze the association between platelet count and hematocrit levels with hemorrhagic occurrence in dengue infection patients. Methods. This was a retrospective longitudinal study which used medical records of dengue cases admitted to Dr. Mohammad Hoesin General Hospital Palembang from January 2024 to August 2025. The parameters analyzed included platelet count and hematocrit levels which were serially monitored throughout admission to analyze their association with hemorrhagic occurrence. Results A total of 53 cases were included, 48 cases aged 18–59 years (90.6%) and 29 male cases (54.7%). In this population, 36 cases (67.9%) were classified as Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) and 28 cases (52.8%) had no hemorrhagic occurrence. The lowest mean platelet count was observed on the first day (54.49 × 10³/µL) and increased until the fifth day (96.42 × 10³/µL), while the highest mean hematocrit level was recorded on the first day (41.47%) and gradually decreased to 36.83% on the fifth day. Significant differences in platelet count between cases with and without hemorrhagic occurrence were observed only on day one of admission (p = 0,002), with no significant differences on subsequent days. Hematocrit levels showed no significant differences throughout the course of admission between both groups. Conclusion. Significant differences in platelet count between cases with and without hemorrhagic occurrence were observed only on day one of admission, with no significant differences on subsequent days. Hematocrit levels showed no significant differences throughout the course of admission between both groups.
