KARAKTERISTIK DIELEKTRIK PADA BLENDED OIL BERBASIS MINYAK NABATI SEBAGAI ALTERNATIF ISOLASI CAIR PADA MINYAK TRANSFORMATOR
This study aims to analyze the dielectric characteristics of blended vegetable oils as an alternative liquid insulation to replace mineral oil in power transformers. The samples used were canola oil (CO), rice bran oil (RBO), and groundnut oil (GO), blended at ratios of 20:80, 40:60, and 50:50 for both RBO:CO and GO:CO mixtures. The dielectric dissipation factor (tan δ) and breakdown voltage were evaluated in accordance with IEC 60247 and IEC 60156 standards. The results show that increasing the proportion of RBO in the RBO:CO blend decreases the tan δ from 5.104 × 10⁻² to 4.738 × 10⁻² and increases the breakdown voltage from 36.1 kV to 40.4 kV. In contrast, increasing the proportion of GO in the GO:CO blend raises the tan δ to 5.662 × 10⁻² and lowers the breakdown voltage to 30.9 kV. Based on these findings, the 50% RBO : 50% CO blend exhibits the most favorable dielectric characteristics, indicating its potential as an environmentally friendly alternative liquid insulating material for transformer applications.
