PENERAPAN INTERVENSI SLOW STROKE BACK MASSAGE TERHADAP PENURUNAN TEKANAN DARAH PADA PASIEN STEMI DENGAN HIPERTENSI
Hypertension in STEMI provoked reperfusion challenges and being associated with a significantly higher mortality rate. Apart from pharmacological or medical methods, an alternative method that has the potential to help lower blood pressure non-pharmacologically is slow stroke back massage therapy. This study aims to apply nursing care and the effect of slow stroke back massage intervention on reducing blood pressure in STEMI patients with hypertension. The method used in this research is a descriptive method with a case study approach. The patients were given intervention in the form of slow stroke back massage for three days with a duration of ±15 minutes. Blood pressure monitoring continued until the third day showing a decrease in blood pressure in the three patients. Slow stroke back massage therapy is a massage technique using the palms of the hands on the back which influences the activity of the sympathetic - parasympathetic nerves, thereby increasing the production of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine which results in systemic vasodilation which can increase relaxation and reduce heart muscle contractility, thereby causing a decrease in blood pressure. Slow stroke back massage therapy can be used as a method to help lower blood pressure in STEMI patients with hypertension.
