ASUHAN KEPERAWATAN GERONTIK DENGAN HEAD MASSAGE TERHADAP PENURUNAN NYERI PADA LANSIA YANG MENDERITA HIPERTENSI DI DESA MERANJAT II.
Introduction: The dominant disease that attacks the elderly population is hypertension. Hypertension is pressure that occurs in a person's blood vessels where the blood pressure increases above normal, which is 140/90 mmHg. One of the signs and symptoms of hypertension is headache. Pharmacological interventions in hypertensive patients can be in the form of administering antihypertensive drugs, while one of the non-pharmacological interventions can be done with Head Massage therapy. Objective: The purpose of this scientific paper is to provide an overview of gerontic nursing care for clients with hypertension, as well as to provide information about non-pharmacological therapy of Head Massage to reduce headache in hypertensive patients. Methods: The method used was qualitative descriptive with a case study approach on the elderly who experienced pain and suffered from hypertension. Results: The results of this scientific paper have been studied in the elderly, and the main nursing diagnosis is acute pain. Nursing intervention and implementation were carried out based on a journal review, namely Head Massage, in the evaluation there was a decrease in head and neck pain and there was a change in blood pressure decrease after three days of Head Massage therapy. Conclusion: Massage can increase blood flow and is beneficial in the process of forming endorphins which are the body's natural pain relievers. Head Massage therapy can be used as one of the non-pharmacological therapies that can be done independently on every client who has pain problems with hypertension.
