PENGARUH KADAR AIR VIRGIN COCONUT OIL TERHADAP SIFAT–SIFAT DIELEKTRIK PRESSBOARD YANG DIIMPREGNASI
This paper focuses on analyzing the effect of moisture content in Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) on the dielectric properties of pressboard as a transformer insulation material. The experiments were conducted on two types of samples: non-impregnated pressboard and pressboard impregnated with VCO for 6, 12, and 24 hours. The tested parameters included moisture content, relative permittivity, Partial Discharge Inception Voltage (PDIV), and surface resistivity. The results show that increasing the impregnation time significantly improves the dielectric properties of the pressboard. The moisture content decreased from 2.68% in the control sample to 0.60% after 24 hours of impregnation, while the relative permittivity increased from 7.16 to 10.54. The PDIV value rose from 1.50 kV to 2.30 kV, and the surface resistivity increased from 2.16 × 10¹⁶ Ω/square to 8.32 × 10¹⁶ Ω/square. These findings indicate that VCO impregnation effectively reduces moisture and air gaps within the pressboard structure, thereby enhancing its insulation strength. Therefore, VCO can be considered an effective natural impregnation material that improves the dielectric performance of pressboard and holds potential as an eco-friendly alternative insulation for power transformers.
