STRATEGI GASTRODIPLOMASI INDONESIA MELALUI INDONESIA STREET FESTIVAL DI AMERIKA SERIKAT
This study discusses Indonesia's gastrodiplomacy strategy through the Indonesia Street Festival(ISF) in the United States as an effort to strengthen the nation's image and identity throughcuisine. Starting from the importance of soft power and public diplomacy in moderninternational relations, this research employs Juyan Zhang's Gastrodiplomacy theory, whichemphasizes five main strategies: product marketing, utilization of opinion leaders, mediarelations, food festivals, and coalition building. The research method used is qualitativedescriptive with data collection techniques through literature study and observation. The resultsindicate that ISF plays a significant role in introducing the richness of Nusantara cuisine,strengthening nation branding, and bridging cultural interaction between Indonesian andAmerican communities through people-to-people diplomacy. Collaboration between the government, diaspora, and cultural actors shows an effective form of participatory diplomacy,while the use of digital media expands the reach of Indonesian cultural promotion. Inconclusion, gastrodiplomacy through ISF successfully enhances Indonesia's positive imageinternationally and contributes to economic diplomacy as well as the strengthening of bilateralrelations between Indonesia and the United States.
