HUBUNGAN INTENSITAS PENGGUNAAN SMARTPHONE DAN LONELINESS DENGAN TINGKAT NOMOPHOBIA PADA SISWA SMP NEGERI 6 INDRALAYA UTARA
Nomophobia (No Mobile Phone Phobia) is the anxiety or discomfort experienced by individuals when they cannot access their smartphones. Adolescents are in a developmental transition period that is vulnerable to the influence of technology, so using excessive smartphone can increase the risk of nomophobia. Internal factors that influence nomophobia levels include smartphone use intensity and loneliness. This study aims to determine the relationship between smartphone use intensity and loneliness with nomophobia levels in students of SMP Negeri 6 Indralaya Utara. The study used a quantitative approach with a descriptive correlational design and cross-sectional methods. A sample was 178 students was selected using the Isaac and Michael formula through purposive sampling and proportionate stratified random sampling. The instruments used such as the Smartphone Addiction Scale–Short Version (SAS-SV), Loneliness and Aloneness Scale for Children and Adolescents (LACA), and Nomophobia Questionnaire (NMP-Q). Data analysis was performed univariately to describe the frequency distribution and bivariately using the Chi-Square (X²) test with α = 0.05. The results of the study showed that the majority of respondents were at the level of moderate nomophobia (52.3%) and severe nomophobia (31.8%). Bivariate analysis showed a highly significant relationship between the intensity of smartphone use and the level of nomophobia (p-value = 0.001), as well as a significant relationship between loneliness and the level of nomophobia (p-value = 0.044). The conclusion of this study shows that the higher the intensity of smartphone use and loneliness, the higher the level of nomophobia in adolescents. The results of this study emphasize the need for school policies to control smartphone use and nursing interventions based on Johnson's Behavioral System Model as a foundation for promotive-preventive nursing interventions in addressing behavioral dysfunction and preventing psychosocial impacts, including the risk of nomophobia and loneliness.
