HUBUNGAN FAKTOR RISIKO DAN KOMORBIDITAS DENGAN TIPE OTITIS MEDIA SUPURATIF KRONIS DI KSM/BAGIAN THT-KL RSUP DR. MOHAMMAD HOESIN PALEMBANG TAHUN 2025
Chronic Suppurative Otitis Media (CSOM) is a persistent middle ear infection characterized by tympanic membrane perforation and ear discharge, which may lead to hearing impairment and serious complications. This study aimed to determine the association between risk factors and comorbidities with the type of CSOM at the ENT-HN Department of Dr. Mohammad Hoesin General Hospital Palembang in 2025. An analytic cross-sectional design with consecutive sampling was applied. A total of 68 CSOM patients who met the inclusion criteria during the period of July–August, 2025 were enrolled. Data were collected through questionnaires and anamnesis, and analyzed using Chi-Square test with a 95% confidence level. Results showed that most patients were aged 11–20 years (27.9%) and female (57.4%). The majority presented with the atticoantral type of CSOM (67.6%). The most common risk factors were a history of upper respiratory tract infection (79.4%), cigarette smoke exposure (76.5%), and allergic rhinitis (51.5%). Most patients had no immune system disorders (92.6%), and no cases were found with a history of laryngopharyngeal reflux.
