PENGARUH PEMBERIAN JUS TOMAT (SOLANUM LYCOPERSICUM) TERHADAP PENURUNAN TEKANAN DARAH PADA PASIEN HIPERTENSI

Munirah, Munirah - Personal Name;

Background: Hypertension remains one of the leading causes of mortality and morbidity in Indonesia. Data from the Ministry of Health (2018) states that the prevalence in Indonesia reached 34.1%. Therefore, early detection and proper long-term management are needed to prevent complications by pharmacological and non-pharmacological means. Non-pharmacological therapy that can lower blood pressure is tomato juice. Objective: to apply the results of the review of evidence-based nursing by drinking tomato juice in families with hypertension. Methods: using descriptive qualitative methods with a case study approach and implementing nursing care according to the results of analyzing 10 research articles on three managed families. Results: the three members of the managed family suffering from hypertension showed problems with peripheral perfusion related to increased blood pressure and appeared to show the inability of the family to care for family members suffering from hypertension. The results of implementation for 3 days on the three members of the managed families suffering from hypertension who were given tomato juice showed a decrease in systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure. Discussion: The benefits of the decrease in blood pressure that occurred in the three clients that could affect the client's peripheral perfusion were obtained through the benefits of tomatoes. Conclusion: There is an effect on reducing the blood pressure of the three managed family members who suffer from hypertension so that tomato juice can be used.
