This study examines the "Rationality of housewives in using Facebook as an additional source of income in the East Senuro Village, Tanjung Batu District, Ogan Ilir Regency." The aim of this research is to describe the forms of rationality and to determine the contribution of the social media platform Facebook in increasing income for housewives in the East Senuro Village, Tanjung Batu District. Ogan Ilir Regency. The research method employed is descriptive qualitative with a phenomenological research strategy. Data collection was conducted through interviews with 15 main informants, supported by additional supporting informants. Documentation and literature studies were analysed using the theory of rational choice proposed by James Samuel Coleman, which shows that an individual's actions are purposeful. The results of this study reveal the forms of rationality chosen by housewives in using the social media platform Facebook: (1) as a promotional tool; (2) as a personal shopping service tool. and (3) content creators. These choices are made by housewives as actions with specific goals, namely, increasing income. Keywords: Rationality Choices, Housewives, Facebook, Income Addition
