PENGARUH PENAMBAHAN NANOPARTIKEL TiO2, ZnO PADA MINYAK JAGUNG TERHADAP DIELECTRIC LOSS (TAN δ)

Skripsi ini melaporkan hasil studi mengenai pengaruh penambahan nanopartikel TiO2 dan ZnO terhadap dielectric loss (tan δ) pada corn oil yang berpotensi sebagai alternatif minyak transformator. Pengujian dilakukan terhadap sampel corn oil dengan pengisi TiO2 dan ZnO dengan variasi konsentrasi 0,01; 0,1; 1 g/l pada temperatur 80°C serta dilakukan pengukuran terhadap sampel corn oil tanpa pengisi sebagai kontrol yang bertujuan sebagai pembanding. Pengujian menggunakan sistem elektroda bola-bola stainless steel dengan diameter 13 mm dan jarak sela antar elektroda 2,5 mm. Hasil pengukuran tan δ pada sampel kontrol dengan perlakuan pada temperatur ruang dan temperatur 80°C diperoleh nilai sebesar 6,772 x 10-2 dan 7,104 x 10-2. Pada sampel temperatur 80°C berpengisi TiO2 dengan variasi konsentrasi 0,01; 0,1; 1 g/l diperoleh nilai sebesar 4,752 x 10-2; 4,432 x 10-2; 4,184 x 10-2. Kemudian, pada sampel temperatur 80°C berpengisi ZnO diperoleh nilai sebesar 4,943 x 10-2; 4,649 x 10-2; 4,462 x 10-2. Dari hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa nanopartikel TiO2 dan ZnO dapat menurunkan nilai tan δ sehingga dapat mengurangi dielectric loss dan meningkatkan ketahanan isolasi dari corn oil. Penambahan nanopartikel telah memodifikasi struktur dan sifat dielektrik dalam corn oil, sehingga menyebabkan peningkatan arus konduksi dalam material isolasi dan mempengaruhi nilai tan δ. Selain itu, pada temperatur tinggi, TiO2 dan ZnO lebih mudah mengalami oksidasi sehingga mempercepat kerusakan dielektrik. Nilai Tan δ terbaik terdapat pada variasi corn oil yang diberi pengisi 0,01 g/l TiO2. This thesis reports the results of a study on the effect of the addition of TiO2 and ZnO nanoparticles on dielectric loss (tan δ) in corn oil which has the potential as an alternative to transformer oil. Tests were conducted on corn oil samples with TiO2 and ZnO fillers with concentration variations of 0,01; 0,1; 1 g/l at 80°C and measurements were made on corn oil samples without fillers as a control for comparison purposes. The test used a stainless steel ball electrode system with a diameter of 13 mm and a gap distance between electrodes of 2,5 mm. The tan δ measurement results on the control sample with treatment at room temperature and 80°C obtained values of 6,772 x 10-2 and 7,104 x 10-2. At 80°C temperature samples filled with TiO2 with a concentration variation of 0,01; 0,1; 1 g/l obtained a value of 4,752 x 10-2; 4,432 x 10-2; 4,184 x 10-2. Then, in the 80°C temperature sample filled with ZnO, the value of 4,943 x 10-2; 4,649 x 10-2; 4,462 x 10-2 was obtained. These results show that TiO2 and ZnO nanoparticles can reduce the tan δ value so as to reduce dielectric loss and increase the insulation resistance of corn oil. The addition of nanoparticles has modified the structure and dielectric properties in corn oil, thus causing an increase in the conduction current in the insulating material and affecting the tan δ value. In addition, at high temperatures, TiO2 and ZnO are more prone to oxidation, accelerating dielectric breakdown. The best Tan δ value is found in the corn oil variation which is filled with 0,01 g/l TiO2.
