PENGARUH KONTAMINAN KARBON LIMBAH TRANSPORTASI DARAT TERHADAP SIFAT HIDROFOBISITAS DAN TINGKAT KONDUKTIVITAS EPOXY RESIN

Penelitian ini melaporkan hasil penelitian mengenai pengaruh polutan dari kendaraan bermotor yang melintasi Jalan Musi 2 Palembang pada material isolasi epoxy resin. Pengukuran yang dilakukan yaitu sudut kontak (contact angle) dan arus bocor (leakage current). Pengukuran sudut kontak pada sampel tanpa pengkondisian sebagai sampel kontrol, 120 jam; 168 jam; dan 216 jam didapatkan nilai sudut kontak yaitu 83,62º; 69,36º; 65,8º; dan 62,9º. Pada pengukuran arus bocor, tegangan yang diterapkan adalah 220 V, 500 V, dan 1000 V. Sistem elektroda yang digunakan berupa Aluminium Tape dengan jarak sela 5 mm. Sampel yang dibuat dengan panjang 40 mm, lebar 20 mm, dan ketebalan 1 mm. Dari hasil pengukuran, diperoleh nilai arus bocor untuk sampel dengan variasi waktu tanpa pengkondisian (kontrol); 120 jam; 168 jam; dan 216 jam. Pada pengaplikasian tegangan 220 V masing-masing sebesar 0,02442; 0,02481; 0,02510; dan 0,02638 mA, kemudian pada pengaplikasian tegangan 500 V nilai arus bocor yang didapatkan yaitu 0,02449; 0,02490; 0,02527; dan 0,02643 mA, dan pada pengaplikasian tegangan 1000 V nilai arus bocor yang didapatkan yaitu 0,02461; 0,02502; 0,02529; dan 0,02666 mA. Peningkatan arus bocor terjadi karena penurunan hidrofobisitas pada sampel epoxy resin setelah dilakukan pengkondisian di Jalan Musi 2 Palembang, sehingga air lebih mudah mengendap dan membentuk lapisan kontaminasi dari debu kendaraan, terutama saat basah oleh kabut, embun, atau hujan. Selain itu, durasi pengkondisian yang lebih lama menyebabkan lebih banyak polutan menempel, membuat permukaan lebih kasar dan meningkatkan konduktivitas material. This thesis reports the results of research on the effect of pollutants from vehicles crossing Jalan Musi 2 Palembang on epoxy resin insulation material. The measurements test were contact angle and leakage current. Measurement of contact angle on samples without conditioning as control sample, 120 hours; 168 hours; and 216 hours obtained contact angle values are 83.62º; 69.36º; 65.8º; and 62.9º. In the leakage current measurement, the voltage applied was 220 V, 500 V, and 1000 V. The electrode system used was Aluminum Tape with gap distance 5 mm. The samples were made with length of 40 mm, width of 20 mm, and a thickness of 1 mm. From the measurement results, the leakage current values were obtained for samples with time variations without conditioning (control); 120 hours; 168 hours; and 216 hours. In the application of 220 V, each is 0,02442; 0,02481; 0,02510; and 0,02638 mA, then in the application of 500 V the leakage current values obtained are 0,02449; 0,02490; 0,02527; and 0,02643 mA, and in the application of 1000 V the leakage current values obtained are 0,02461; 0,02502; 0,02529; and 0,02666 mA. The increase in leakage current occurred due to a decrease in hydrophobicity in the epoxy resin sample after conditioning on Jalan Musi 2 Palembang, so that water is easier to settle and form a layer of contamination from vehicle dust, especially when wet by fog, dew, or rain. In addition, longer conditioning duration causes more pollutants to adhere, making the surface rougher and increasing the conductivity of the material.
